PODIUM Phase 1 Program – DANONE
Information about PODIUM Phase 1 Program in collaboration with DANONE
PODIUM Program (Oenaek Water System Improvement and Installation for Communities) – Phase I was implemented by the Community Care Network (CCN) Foundation / Yayasan Jaringan Peduli Masyarakat (JPM) with the support of Danone Indonesia from September to December 2023 in Oenaek Village, West Kupang Sub-district, Kupang Regency. The program aimed to improve community welfare and resilience by enhancing access to clean water and implementing integrated interventions through community development and empowerment. Through the PODIUM Program, JPM supported the village government and local communities, particularly in addressing the urgent need for safe and reliable access to clean water. Clean water is an essential basic need, not only for household use but also as a key supporting factor in the success of stunting prevention efforts in Oenaek Village. A total of 30 households across Hamlets 1, 2, and 3 now have access to clean water through a household connection system. Prior to the implementation of the PODIUM Program, residents relied on water distribution via tanker trucks, with costs ranging from IDR 80,000 to 100,000 per delivery. The program carried out a complete rehabilitation of the non-functional and severely damaged water supply network, starting from the water source and extending to household connections. To ensure the sustainability of the newly established water system, the PODIUM Program facilitated the establishment of a Clean Water Facilities Management Unit under the supervision of BUMDes Oenaek (Oenaek Village-Owned Enterprise). The management unit has been strengthened with formal Articles of Association and Bylaws and received capacity-building training to serve as a foundation for the professional and sustainable management of the clean water system.
Thank You, Danone Indonesia
